  Warning: while they offer great interest rates on checking and on loans, I feel like they are nickel-and-diming me by making me pay $1.25 for any debit card transactions, even if the company (like McDonald's, Wal-Mart) choose to run my card as a "non-pin debit" when I have selected credit. Is there a workaround for this? Sure. Make sure you run your debit card as a credit card at least 12 times in a month. Not sure if you got that right 12 times? Login to their website to check your progress toward "qualifying" (easier said than done, now that all the banks have increased security measures) Is it worth the hassle to have to be constantly hovering and worrying over your checking account? No. They only have a limit of $10 that they'll reimburse for on your account even if you DO qualify, that's 8 debit transactions, which they classify as "ATM withdrawals". So when they say they'll pay your ATM fees up to $10/month, that's under the same umbrella, so for Heaven's sake don't use a foreign ATM machine and just don't memorize your pin at all. I have had more than one worker explain the rules to me now. They have been patient and empathetic, the employees don't make the rules, but nobody runs their business like this, right? It's just weird.
